Hiking the Inca Trail was the experience of a lifetime. The journey wasn’t the easiest thing that I’ve ever done, but that made completing it all the better.
Cultural Immersion is a great way to hike the Inca Trail. The guides are very knowledgeable and so proud of the Incan Civilizations. You stop at nearly every archeological site and get a story about what that site was…in English even. Most of the other tours I saw got a name of the sight and then were hearded off on their merry way.
Cultural Immersion took care of everything for us. We didnt have to worry about transfers, meals or camping gear. All we had to do was hike, and hike we did.
I always know it’s a good vacation when I come back more tired than when I left and I came home spent.
I’d absolutely recommend Cultural Immersion to everyone.

Every detail was arranged and we were well taken care of. We found you through a third-party compliment on an unrelated website, so that seemed to be good unsolicited feedback. Our expectations were exceeded, from the ease of making arrangements by email, to the quality of the experience, and the quality of the personnel that took care of us during the stay. Jennie took all of our many changes to the itinerary in stride; Daniel was an expert guide, very willing to do whatever we asked; and Carlos was extraordinary in his ability to navigate the Peruvian roads. The food was excellent, and the Monasterio is an outstanding, world-class hotel. I normally like to offer constructive suggestions for improvement, but truthfully in this case I cannot come up with one, other than that the high quality of the picnic lunch deserved wine instead of orange soda as an accompaniment! Daniel and Carlos our guides were always on time and very knowledgable about the local culture both past and present. They presented us with a clear itinerary and kept us informed of what we were doing, where we were going, and how long it would take to get there. I have travelled to many parts of the world and have had the pleasure of dealing with many tour operators and I can comfortably say that Cultural Immersions, and specifically Eduardo, clearly provided the best experience imaginable.
My expectation bar for what to expect when dealing with a tour operator has been reset and I would passionately recommend Eduardo and his team at Cultural Immersion to plan any trip under even the tightest timelines. For me, Cultural Immersion in less than a week from me and 5 friends arriving in Lima, Peru was able to plan and coordinate a 1 night excursion to Machu Picchu and back. This is not logistically easy to do and Eduardo and staff made it feel absolutely effortless, including taxies, flights, trains, buses, hotel and anything and everything else we needed. Our trip was amazing and we would highly recommend Cultural Immersion to anyone considering a trip to Peru.
Sylvia, Jose and Vagner were excellent guides and we certainly saw sites and learned things we’d have never managed had we traveled on our own. The itinerary was excellent with a good balance of scheduled and down time where we could explore on our own. This was particularly good for our group of six as it included two children under eight years old. It’s impossible to pick a single high point from our 11 days there. From Pisaq, through the rest of the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca every day held a new adventure. We had seen some amazing photos of Peru prior to our trip but they certainly didn’t capture the beauty of the place. We feel fortunate having had the opportunity to explore Peru and are very grateful to Eduardo and everyone at Cultural Immersion for making the trip an adventure we’ll always remember.

Our Trip was perfect from the minute we stepped off the airplane in Lima where we were greeted by our driver until 8 days later when we were so very sad to leave
The itinerary was paced perfectly for us, allowing us plenty of time to stop and see the sights along the road and giving us time in the towns on our own to meet people, shop and enjoy amazing food! The team worked closely with us to ensure a good combination of rest time, shopping time and sightseeing time. They answered all our questions before our trip (of which there were many) so we were comfortable that they understood us as the customer. We were very happy with the choice of hotels, locations to visit and recommendations for restaurants. (The food in Peru is beyond great). Our tour guides were top professionals and not only were they extremely knowledgeable about the history, but they were also very passionate about it. The combination was awesome. Cultural Immersion was absolutely the best choice we could have made in a tour company for our trip to Peru. Cultural Immersion is a small company, with individualized service that aims to plan and conduct a trip that meets the expectations of each traveler. We are a family of 6, with children aged 15, 13, 10, and 6. Eduardo helped us plan a trip perfectly suited for our family. At each point in the trip, Eduardo added surprising experiences which introduced us to the true culture of Peru and its people. For example, he surprised the children with donkeys ready to be ridden through the small village of Maras in the Sacred Valley. The donkeys appeared out of nowhere as we were sitting in the village’s plaza, led by a friendly local lady and her young son.

This same villager cooked potatoes for us in the traditional way, with hot coals underground, for a lunch that we enjoyed in front of Maras’ beautiful church looking out over the magnificent Andes’ snowcapped peaks. Following lunch, we visited a local family’s house and then visited the local centuries-old church, often overlooked by tourists. Carlos, our driver, arranged a visit to the church by waking up the caretaker’s wife from a nap to let us in! We could only have had this highly personalized experience through a tour guide with local connections who desires to share not only the sights of Peru but also the cultural aspects of the country with his clients. Each day of our trip brought wonderful new sights and gave us chances to make friends with Peruvian people we met along the way. Never have we had a trip where each detail was thought out so well. Eduardo plans trips with care, focusing on the needs of each group and personally involving himself in making sure trips go smoothly. In 2 weeks of traveling in Peru with Cultural Immersion, we had no disappointments, only smooth and positive days. We will always remember a magical trip to Peru with Cultural Immersion

This was certainly a wonderful vacation which we will remember for a very long time. Some of the pictures turned out really great – especially you as Zorro – so we will send them to you. Mario was a great driver and Joanne was a truly gifted guide with very comprehensive knowledge about various places, people and their culture. In particular we deeply appreciate seeing and visiting some smaller “off-the-beaten path” areas which gave us a more insightful understanding of the people and their culture. No one, of course, believes that we ate a guinea pig, even though we have pictures to prove it.
I am still thinking of coming back for the Inca trail!!!!

Our trip was pretty near perfect. Cultural Immersions (inkastravel.com) did a great job.
We just returned from 11 days in Peru - Amazon, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes. 7 people including 4 kids from 8-18. It was pretty near perfect. Cultural Immersions (inkastravel.com) did a great job. Eduardo, the owner, is a fairly young guy with a lot of energy and attention to detail. He took excellent care of us. Most importantly (and uncharacteristically for Latin America), he answered EVERY email I sent him within 24 hours. We changed plans and asked a million questions in advance of this trip and Eduardo was courteous, quick and accurate in his responses. He put together a program that fit our desires, but also made really good recommendations that we wouldn't have known about - e.g., going to Sacred Valley BEFORE Cusco. We suffered no altitude sickness because of this recommendation. Highly recommended. Peru doesn't disappoint. In fact, it exceeds expectations on every level. Safe, clean and absolutely spectacular.

Cultural Immersion did a great job!
Peru is unbelievably beautiful, and I’m glad that we got to see so many different parts of it. We usually avoid using travel agencies, but in this case I’m really glad we did. There is no way I could plan all of these excursions, tours, and mini trips, and learn so much about the country on my own. It was our first time traveling to Peru, and this trip turned out to be a great blend of tourist attractions and real authentic Peruvian experiences (a perfect combination for a first-time visitor).It might be a bit too much for 11 days. I wish we could spend a little longer in some places. But overall we both are 100% satisfied with this trip.

We enjoyed every moment of this trip.
We had a wonderful trip in Peru thanks to Eduardo of Cultural Immersion. Our group decided to take a tour on the Salkantay trek offered by several travel agency in Cusco. We sent emails to many of them about information requests/possibilities, but from the first replies it was clear that Cultural Immersion is different than most of the others. Eduardo sent clear informations, arranged/modified/extended the trip to our needs and he did all these quickly without any problem. I can tell that the four days trip was even better than we expected. First class tents and accomodation, always in time transportation, friendly and helpful colleges of Eduardo and our guide (Chino :) ) was amazing. He knows the area very well (flora, fauna, tracks, peoples, etc.) and as an addition has a really strong historical and cultular knowledge. We met local peoples not just to say a hello, but to speak with them about the life in the highlands.

We would whole-heartedly recommend Eduardo of Cultural Immersion.
While our itinerary provided a basic description of our day, like “Arrival to Cusco and transfer to the ... hotel in the Sacred Valley”, each day with Eduardo was filled with extra stops that really made the trip fun. We stopped at an animal recovery center and were permitted to enter the condor enclosure and were able to watch that splendid bird feed. The animal recovery center had a monkey, a puma and a bunch of other animals. We stopped at a woven goods sales location which had a host of llamas, vicunas and alpacas and fodder so my children, 18 and 22, could delight in feeding the animals. One day, as we passed a village festival for an hour, we stopped and watched “clown” soccer, local costumed marching bands and dancers. None of those special moments were part of the itinerary, but each added to the fun of the trip. Our only disappointment, as we bounded from Lima, to the jungle, to the Sacred Valley, to Machu Picchu and finally Cusco, was that we only had 3 days with Eduardo.

My dad and I are recovering from a very busy trip with many fond memories. The bus trip to Arequipa was nice and quick. The EL ENSUENO hotel was very nice and centrally located to the city square and our transfer was there waiting for us. Our City Tour was nice and we were the only ones. Our city tour guide ended up being our guide the next day to Chivay and Colca Canyon. She was very, very good (Linhnia was her name, not sure of the spelling). The driver was also excellent. The thermal springs were great and as well as Colca Canyon. The Peruvian dinner was attended by most in our tour group and we had lots of fun. Food quality and variety in Chivay as in all of our trip was excellent. I wish we has the same consistency in the US as we had in  Peru. Our flight was delayed to Lima from Arequipa for a few hours due to mechanical problems. However we enjoyed the flight and the transfer was waiting for us. The excursion over the Nazca lines by small plane was nice, but the trip to get to them was very long. The nice part of the trip was meeting people like you and Marco and spending time with you. Hope to see you on anther trip to Peru and maybe if you decide to come here your are welcome to stay at my home.

Desde que se empeso la comunicacion para el tour al Cusco nos respondieron siempre rapido y entendieron lo que nosotros estabamos buscando de un tour. El precio que nos dieron fue economic comparado con otras agencias que cuando escuchan que uno viene del extranjero te quieren cobrar el doble. Cuando llegamos al aereopuerto estaban ya esperandonos, todo lo que estaba en el intinerario lo cumplieron sin ni un problema. Los 4 dias que estuvimos en el Cusco fueron realmente maravillosos , gracias todos los que hicieron que el tour salga muy bien. Son unos chicos muy profesionales y estoy segura que nos volveremos a ver para otro tour.

Every aspect of the trip was prepared perfectly-all of the guides were so nice and very informative and helpful. Rafael even took me to a local store to help me buy some pants in Cusco. The Eco Amazonia Lodge was fantastic-I loved it!!! I very much appreciated the efforts you and the guide Joanna and the driver Carlos made to avoid the transportation strike problems. I have a hat that I would like to send to Joanna-could you let me know where to send it please? Again, many thanks, I will definitely spread the word online of your professional services and plan on returning to Peru possibly next year. I was only sorry I didn't get to meet and thank you personally. Your country is truly special, everyone I met was friendly and helpful-I felt very safe and secure-thank you thank you!!!!

This was a trip I will remember for a very long time.
I loved my trip to Peru! The country is beautiful and the people are all very warm and welcoming. Everyone we dealt with at Cultural Immersion was knowledgeable, helpful, and happy to do whatever they could to make our trip special. Eduardo took really good care of us - he kept us organized and on schedule, but was flexible to allow for changes as needed. I enjoyed his enthusiasm for his country, his eagerness to share his knowledge and experiences, and his sincere kindness towards everyone. Hiking the Inka trail was harder than I expected, but amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who is considering it. The porters were incredible and our guide, Chino, really made it a fantastic experience for us. Leaving Eduardo, Peru, and all of the wonderful people we met along the way was truly sad for everyone in my group.
This was a trip I will remember for a very long time.

The entire experience in Peru was excellent and your representatives did a wonderful job keeping us informed and supported.
Our experience with this type of independent touring was very favorable.
Each step along the way is a leap faith….that someone will be at the next time and location specified to take you to or thru the next step!
And each time that person was there to allow the tour to continue on schedule..even when the airlines delayed their flight by more than 6 hours! At 3:30AM your driver was at the Lima airport to take us to our hotel without any complaints!
Being as tall as I am (6’6”), I had requested queen or king sized beds at each stop and Eduardo did an excellent job with the accommodations we had!
